LoadPilot Is Shutting Down — Here Are Your Options
By Robert Stubbs
If you were on LoadPilot, the first priority is not shopping features. It is getting your data out while you still can. Export your customers, carriers, active loads, lane history, rate history, contacts, and any accounting records you might need later. If the system has documents or attachments, pull those too. The mistake small brokerages make in a shutdown situation is assuming they will remember the important accounts and rebuild manually. That sounds fine until you realize how much knowledge was buried in notes, contacts, and historical pricing.
Once your exports are safe, then you can evaluate replacements the right way. I would start with the terms, not the dashboard screenshots. Is it month to month or are they going to lock you into a contract? Can you export your data if you leave? Are you paying one price for the platform, or are the useful features all hidden behind add-ons and upsells? In my opinion, those questions matter more than polished marketing copy because they tell you how trapped you will feel six months from now.
There are honest tradeoffs across the market. AscendTMS is attractive to a lot of brokers because the entry price looks low and there is a free tier, but you need to understand where the upsells start and what your operation will actually need once volume grows. ARK TMS is another option if you want a more established transportation-specific platform and can live with a higher monthly price point. 20-2 Dispatch is my answer to brokers who want CRM, TMS, and accounting in one broker-focused workspace without being forced into a heavy enterprise buying process.
I am not interested in trashing competitors because every brokerage has different priorities. What I will say is this: if you are migrating under pressure, pick the platform that lets you get operational quickly, keeps your data portable, and does not punish you for growing. A TMS should lower your operational stress. If the replacement process leaves you feeling boxed in before you even go live, it is probably the wrong fit.
